Ambien.

Ambien (zolpidem) can be prescribed for the treatment of sleep problems. Its effects are based on slowing down the activity in your brain that prevents you from going to sleep. Do not take Ambien if you do not intend to sleep for the period of its efficiency – 7-8 hours. If you get up before that time you can experience memory problems for the rest of the day. Do not take Ambien for longer than 10 days in a row unless otherwise recommended by you health care provider. This is a drug of abuse and you can develop addiction or tolerance to it if you take it for too long. Make sure you always talk to your health care provider before starting to use Ambien and discuss any medical condition you have that may potentially decrease its efficiency, such as sleep apnea, kidney disease, liver disease, a history of drug or alcohol addiction, lung disease, or myasthenia gravis. Any drugs you are taking must also be reported, especially any of the following ones: mental illness drugs, seizure medications, antidepressants, sedatives, other sleeping pills, medications for anxiety, colds or allergies meds, and tranquilizers. Some of them may require a dose adjustment for you to benefit from both your treatments as much as possible.
